A Log Cabin From Scratch                                                          {forthcoming in MMM Vol. X.}

by Hal Sirowitz

I look down at my dog

and notice a small log

in her mouth. She soon

sees another log and

wants that one, too,

as though she had plans

to build a log cabin. She's

now making the necessary

calculations and tests to see

whether she can carry both.

She can't. She can only

carry one at a time. She'll

never be the Abraham Lincoln

of dogs and live in a log cabin

built by her own paws.
